Astronomy at the Whitetail ObservatoryThe Whitetail Observatory in Georgetown is willing to work with Scout Units in programming and the astronomy merit badge. To see the facility click on http://www.virtualobservatory.com/ Wild AfternoonsBoy and Girl Scouts, Indian Guides, Campfire Boys and Girls, and other groups earn merit badges or just enjoy a guided hike in the oak juniper woodlands of Wild Basin. Among the many programs are Birding, Finding Your Way, Geology and Fossils, Indian Lore, Native Plants, and Forestry. Fees vary from $3 to $5 per participant. Custom tours can be arranged. Call Kiki 327-7622 or e-mail kikic@wildbasin.org for reservations and information. HOW TO FIND US The entrance to Wild Basin is on the east side of Loop 360 (805 N. Capital of Texas Highway). Entrance is approximately 1 mile north of Bee Caves Road, or approximately 3 miles south of the Loop 360 bridge over Lake Austin (Colorado River).
