Sleepover Program Description:

·   The date of the sleepover is September 25th, 2004.

·   The sleepover program length is from 6:30pm-8:00am.

·   The cost per person (both children and adults) will be $70.

·   There will also be a $7 parking fee per vehicle.

·   We will visit Shamu Stadium, Dolphin Cove, Sharks/The Coral Reef, Penguin Encounter, and Seal and Sea Lion Community to explore the needs, niche, adaptations, habitat, and environment of each species.

·   A T-shirt will be provided for each participant and each Cub Scout will receive a SeaWorld Sleepover patch.

·   NOTE:  We are limited to 120 total participants for this activity!  Therefore the earlier you submit the documents described below and pay the fees for participating, the better your chance of being placed on the reservation list!

To participate in this sleepover you MUST do the following:

·   Fill out a Medical Emergency Information Form for each child who is participating.  The form is attached to this document.

·   Fill out a Photo Release Form for each person (adult or Cub Scout) who wishes to be in a group picture that will be taken by the SeaWorld staff sometime Saturday night.  It is optional to be in the picture.  The form is attached to this document.

·   Fill out a T-Shirt List form (attached to the bottom of this document) and indicate the number and sizes needed.  Sorry, but the smallest size available is Adult Small.  You may have only one T-Shirt per participant (child and adult).

·   Write a check for the total amount due which is payable to “BSA Pack 149”.  The cost is $70 per person.  In the memo field, please indicate the names of the persons participating.

·   Deliver your filled out Medical Emergency Information Form(s), Photo Release Form(s), T-Shirt List, and check in one of the following ways:

o      Mail the documents to Steve Jellison at 10810 Centennial Trail, Austin, TX 78726 postmarked no later than Tuesday, September 14th.

o      Bring the documents to one of Den 5’s den meetings at the Pickfair Community Center, 10904 Pickfair Dr.  Den 5 meets on Tuesdays at 6:30 PM on the following dates:  Aug. 31st, and Sept. 7th.

o      Bring the documents with you to the Cub Bowl on Saturday, Sept. 18th.  If you intend to bring your documentation to the Cub Bowl, please email or call Steve Jellison no later than Sept. 14th so that he can add you to the reservation list.

·   Your Cub Scout(s) must wear their dress uniforms on Saturday.  The adult leaders will also need to wear their uniforms.  We want our Scouts to look good for the group picture on Saturday night.  Even if your Cub Scout(s) will not be in the picture, they do need to wear their uniforms to show their affiliation and for BSA insurance purposes.

·   On Saturday the 25th, report to the Education Groups Window located in the Main Entrance Plaza (to the right of the main arches and Guest Relations) no later than 6:00 PM to join the group.  Persons arriving later than 6:00 PM may not have enough time to check in and may not be able to join the group.

·   As an added precaution, please print out and bring with you the Medical Emergency Information Forms(s) for your children.

·   You must bring your own sleeping gear, pillow, change of clothes, and other essential items.  PLEASE PACK LIGHTLY!!  Please limit overnight items to the following:  Sleeping bag, blankets, pillow, sleeping clothes, toothbrush, tooth paste, change of clothes, camera (optional), water bottle (optional), bedroll pad or air mattress with air pump (optional).  All participants will be sleeping on the floor.  Please do not bring hair dryers, curling irons, radios or headsets.

Requirements and additional information:

·   Each child must have one parent attend (BSA rules for Cub Scout overnight excursions).

·   Do not come to the park hungry!  Please have at least a light dinner before arriving at the park.  This activity is a guided tour and there is no time allotted for stopping at food stands to eat.  A pizza snack will be provided at about 8:00 PM Saturday night.  A continental breakfast (juice and rolls) will be provided Sunday morning.  If dietary needs require other foods or more food for dinner or breakfast, you should plan on eating before arriving and/or after leaving the park.  Please keep in mind that SeaWorld San Antonio does not allow food to be brought into the park.  There is also no time allotted for visits to the gift shops, restaurants, concessions, rides, shows or other habitats not included in the program.

·   Dress appropriately for the outdoors, the forecasted weather, and walking.  All SeaWorld programs spend time outdoors and involve a considerable amount of walking.  SeaWorld does not provide shuttles for their programs. All participants must walk unless their health requires assistance. If anyone in our group requires assistance please let Steve Jellison know immediately.

·   Restroom facilities are available for changing clothes, brushing teeth, etc.  Please keep in mind that these facilities are not inside the exhibit.  There are no shower facilities available.

·   If you want to spend extra time in the park on either Saturday or Sunday, you can upgrade your stay at the park to include park admission at the rate of $20 per participant (plus the program fee).  To add admission to the park, please contact the Reservations Department at 1-800-700-7786 or the Education Department at (210) 523-3608.  The total number of tickets must be equal to or less than the persons participating in the sleepover.

·   To assure all participants have an equal opportunity to benefit from the program, all participants must use appropriate behavior while visiting the park. SeaWorld San Antonio reserves the right to remove participants who are exhibiting inappropriate behavior.

·   SeaWorld San Antonio Education Programs are separate and supplemental to the park itself. Therefore, Season Passports, discount coupons, and other offers cannot be applied towards the education program fees.

·   All programs will begin on time. Late arrivals will not be able to join the group. Please keep in mind that all participants must enter and exit with the group. No exceptions will be made.

·   Due to heightened security measures, guests and bags are subject to inspection.

SeaWorld San Antonio is located at the intersection of Ellison Drive and Westover Hills Blvd., 16 miles northwest of downtown San Antonio, off State Highway 151, between Loop 410 and Loop 1604.
